Liberating the Entrepreneurial Spirit for Good- The FLOW Book
Based on the extremely constructive feedback we received from
our readers’ circle and on our own internal process, we have
made some meaningful changes to the book, which we are now calling
Liberating the Entrepreneurial Spirit for Good.
You can download a copy of the Table of Contents and Introduction via this link. We will have more to send soon, and anticipate
finishing the book in the next month or two.
Thank you to all who have provided insights and suggestions
to date. We welcome and encourage your ongoing input.
Peace Through Commerce Challenge Grants
We are on the home stretch of matching two challenge grants
to activate an intensive and extensive development phase for
our Peace Through Commerce program. The Challenge grants total
$75,000, half of our $150,000 budget. We have another $25,000
committed, leaving $50,000 to go in the next three weeks. We
have many indications of support, but until it is in, it is still
open.
During the next phase we will be doing research and pre-production
on a TV Documentary and a radio series; advancing event design
and producing a series of events, including a high level PTC
retreat; completing a Peace Through Commerce curriculum; building
out our PTC web presence; engaging a broader array of strategic
allies; and more.
We welcome all support and collaboration
in this process. And we have engaged Sharon Feder to work with
us on this development process, and to more broadly develop FLOW’s
outreach and development program. Michael, Sharon, or I are happy
to address your questions and to receive your suggestions. You
can download
a Peace Through Commerce presentation via this link.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Empowering Women Entrepreneurs
Our EWE program is alive and well, and
continuing to build momentum. You can download
an overview of the program via this link. And here
is a link to an
ad which will run in Motto magazine announcing our
fall events. We are launching the program via a weekend of events
at The Crossings in Austin. We will send more information soon
and hope you can join us.
FLOW Activation Circle News
Austin: Continues to collaborate on bringing
artisanal products by women entrepreneurs to market. Visit the
ConnectHer site for more information. If you would like to
be invited to the FLOW Empower Women group at Yahoo, email lila@flowidealism.org.
The Austin FAC will be collaborating to present the EWE launch
in Austin on November 30th – December 1st. The Austin group is
settling into a regular schedule and is becoming self-organizing.
San Francisco: Continues to focus on EWE and on the EWE event
on December 7th. FLOW’s purpose and approach to advancing it
seems to be coming to life in the SF FAC, as the systems approach
we are taking with our programs is bringing our vision to life.
I will write more on this next month. Next month we will meet
at the Red Vic Peace Center in San Francisco.
New York: The New York group took August off (at least for their
FAC meeting) and are gearing up for a September 12th meeting.
General: Based on our experience with Austin, SF, And NYC and
on ongoing reflection and feedback, we are developing the DNA
to spread FACs more widely. As always, we welcome input and feedback.
To this end, we will publish a draft of our guidelines for FACs
soon.
The FLOW Wiki
You can view and explore the design
of the site at this link. We have build the database and interface,
and soon to integrate with the wiki software. We have
our initial content reading to load in, and look forward to
inviting you to dive in, so to speak.
